Cruise-ship Season 2019 - St Helena

Sunday 13th January saw a kick-start to the Cruise-ship Season in St Helena for 2019 with the MV Seven Seas Explorer gracing us with her presence - and grace us she did. It was so refreshing to meet passengers of off the Cruise-liner who were besotted with what St Helena had to offer: unique & diverse landscapes, the friendly Saint hospitality and more history & heritage that you would know what to do with in just a days exploration.

We were super-chuffed with response from these visitors as they were certainly appreciative of local products and the island culture (including having no ATMs or credit card facilities!). Many passengers I spoke to were from America, Canada or Britain and whilst some of them had heard of St Helena from our Napoleon connection - many did not know about the location of St Helena until now.

You see, we love to welcome visitors to St Helena, but what we are not a fan of is when passengers come ashore, only to look around in Jamestown, buy a magnet and then get back on the ship thinking that they have experienced the true St Helena...we have so more more to share with them.

Let's hope we have more of the 'appreciative' visitors heading our way this year either via ship or air-travel. G-Unique loves welcoming those who appreciate the unique nature of our hand-made jewellery...here's to more of that!
