Returning Home to St Helena Island in 2025: A Heartfelt Journey After Life in the Falklands and Ascension Island

It’s been 18 months since I returned to my home turf of St Helena Island after leaving in 2020, and I can honestly say I’ve loved and cherished every single moment. There’s something incredibly grounding about being back where my roots are planted – the island feels like both a comfort and a calling, and I know in my heart this is exactly where I’m meant to be.

Before returning, life took me on a wonderful journey of growth and discovery. From 2020 to 2022, I had the privilege of living in the Falkland Islands (my Deep South Saint adventures) – a time that was not only beautiful but deeply inspiring. And we gained an additional little family member...Master Ocean. From there, I moved with my expanded family (from 3 to 4) on to Ascension Island for 18 months, where I learned so much about myself, embraced new experiences, and enjoyed raising my family. Those years away shaped me in countless ways, but nothing compares to the sense of alignment I feel here on St Helena.
Since coming back, one of my greatest joys has been relocating and reimagining The G-Unique Boutique. The move gave me the opportunity to integrate and become a part of the aesthetic of Main Street, creating a space that adds creativity, positivity, and joy to our community. The Boutique has become more than just a shop – it’s a meeting point. A place where people can come not only to browse for gifts, but to connect, to share stories, and to leave with a little spark of joy.
Inside, you’ll find locally made jewellery, artisan products, crystals, and positivity gifts – all chosen and created with intention. My vision has always been to weave meaning and beauty into everything offered here, and I’m so grateful that the Boutique has become a small hub of connection and inspiration in the heart of town.
Being back on St Helena has reminded me of the magic of 'Saint living' – the slower pace, the community spirit, the deep ties to heritage, and the grounding sense of home. It feels like every step I took – from the Falklands to Ascension – was guiding me right back here, to this moment, this place, and this purpose.
Here’s to more alignment, creativity, and joy – right here on my beautiful St Helena Island.
